written when mom died...(my written eulogy)
(The Moon`s A Balloon)
who knows if the moon's a balloon, coming out of a keen city in the sky - filled with pretty people? (and if you
and i should
get into it,if they should take me and take you into their balloon, why then we'd go up higher
with all the pretty people
than houses and steeples and clouds: go sailing away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where
always it's Spring)and everyone's in love and flowers pick
themselves

My religion is well known to those few who know me, I believe in bodies, arms entangling and untangling.
I believe, and I know it to be so, that there are so many curves and hollows in a single body that none of us can come to
know them all within a single lifetime. I believe in one to one and one on one, no wine or hand-me-down bible can improve
on that.
I believe in spring, but only if I'm rolled up in a pillow or holding some well-loved face in my hands or
my imagination is any world green enough for me.
More often I'm a spectator, meaning I've no reason to believe in anything
save what I see. But I do. I know there is more to seeing than looking, but I go on looking..

Taking time to love is what it's all about--- what makes the clocks turn and the sunsets come true and
without complication. That dosen't mean lying close in shut-up rooms or staying always face to
face. It's meant to cover walking, being apart and knowing that coming back together makes small distances
even smaller. And taking the time to love is, most of all, caring enough to not hold on too
tightly and yet not run too loose. --Rick
